Major Openings

Major suits are the boss at Duplicate.

Every bidding convention and style is designed
to find a fit in the major suits,
because Duplicate scoring is biased in that direction.

Second choice is a Notrump contract, and
10th choice is a minor suit contract. Notrump openings also end
up in a major suit contract whenever an 8+ card major suit fit can be found.

If this seems fanatical, so be it, but this is
how winners play duplicate. It's also far simpler to remember,
which is important in the middle of a tough match.
