Sessions and Sections

Two of One; Any Number of the Other. Most tournament events are two sessions - meaning you play 26 boards in the morning or afternoon and another 26 in the afternoon or evening.

You are ranked for each of the two sessions and in the 'overalls', which determine the overall winners for both sessions combined. There may be 2 to 20 sections of players, of 12 to 16 tables each, all playing the same hands in a single session.

Section Tops. For each session, section winners get 'Section Top' awards. Overall winners - for both sessions and for all sections - are the big winners, and they collect lots of master points.

The Payoff. Master points are awarded for several places - not to just the first place winners. They may pay master points for up to 8 places in a large tournament of 40 - 50 tables in a session.
