Partnership Desk

You don't even need a partner to go to a bridge tournament !

Finding A New One. One feature at most tournaments is a partnership desk, where the organizers will find you a partner or find your team another team of approximately equal skill, at no charge. There's no problem with this procedure; many pairs and individual players do it constantly. Partners may even be available if yours abandons you.

There are cases of players picking up partners this way and winning major tournaments !

Do it without fear. It's fun. Don't be shy if you don't have a partner.

They don't take trade-ins, however. We often use the partnership desk, even though we know teams to play with all over the country. It is a fine way to meet new bridge friends. We have met players who we see year after year.
