Keeping Score in Team Events
Caddy Shack. Hands in Swiss Team events aren't duplicated - - that means no hand records are available, of course. Caddies are available to relay the boards back and forth as you play the exact same boards at both tables. You're still required to keep score and each table compares the scores before the players return to their 'home table'.
When the winning team is determined, the winning Team Captain turns in the winning score to the scorekeepers. They then begin the process of assigning the winning and losing teams to another match and posting the leading team numbers.
Swiss Team Captains Team captains are responsible for filling out the entry blank properly, for turning in the scores and for finding the next assigned table when they are posted.Teams may have more than 4 players - - up to six are usually allowed. In this case, the team captain assigns the pairs, players and non-players and manages the team like a football coach. Team captains don't have to play each match, although there are minimum numbers of matches each team member must play in order to collect any master points. In big national events, 'captaining' is an important duty, and the captain often is a non-playing role.
