Keeping Score
North's the Scorekeeper. When you are done with both (or all) boards, North will complete the score ticket - - a little card with the board numbers, pair numbers, contracts, results and table numbers. These little tickets will be the same color as the section marker. If you are North, fill out the score ticket after each hand, and see that the E/W pair initial that they agree with the results before they move for the next round. Place it face down on the table, make an x on the back and turn up a little corner so the caddie can pick it up easily. A caddie will come around and pick up the tickets from the preceding round during each round. Score Tickets. Score tickets are turned in by the caddie to the tournament scorekeeper, who will put the results into a computer and tabulate scores while you play. In this way, complete printed results are available for each session almost immediately after the last hand is played.Example score ticket :(Can you tell what round this was scored for? E/W went down one at 3NT on board 17 and N/S made four Hearts on board 18. E/W initialed the card in the E-W OK box, and North filled in all the handwritten items.
*** This is round one, because the N/S and E/W pairs have the same pair numbers.
