After the Second Session

The second session will be a repeat of the first so far as procedure is concerned.

Roll It Up. Your score in the first session will be carried over and the whole day will be tabulated to determine the winner of the 'overalls' - the winners for the entire day, considered as a single event. You'll have two session scores and an event score.

After the session, look for your scores, copy down the results for each hand if you want and congratulate your partner on playing very well. Forget any little flaws -- nobody is perfect, and it won't matter anyway ten minutes later.

Collecting Your Master Points

The Overalls. The master points awarded for each place in each section, and for the overalls, will be posted prominently on the wall or a sign board, and will remain there for the whole tournament - several days to a week or so. Ask a scorekeeper for a copy for your bridge scrapbook.

For example, if you were first in your section in the afternoon and were second place finishers in the overalls, you will get the number of master points posted for second place in the overalls.

Session Awards. If you did not finish high enough in the overalls, you may still get some master points for finishing high in your section, either in the afternoon or evening or both. These are posted as Session Awards, and will also be posted on the same forms as the overall winners, somewhere on the official tournament results board.

All master points due you will be posted to your ACBL number at ACBL Headquarters, and will appear on your ACBL statement for the month in which you earned them.

(Reading this series carefully will assure you of winning early and often, no doubt, but don't expect to win your first time out -- there's some really good players out there ! )
