Brozel Convention Overcall over 1NT

A Problem. With two suits, there are a number of conventions to overcall an opponent's 1NT opener.

All are complex for a novice at Duplicate, so you should compete only with long suits or by balancing, until you are comfortable at Duplicate and have mastered some other conventions first.

We use one of the conventions, all based on having two 5 card suits, called Brozel.

Brozel.  Briefly, it revolves around the Heart suit as follows:

Response to Brozel. Partner bids 2NT to identify your 5 card minor if you bid 2 Spades.  Otherwise, responder simply places the contract, in one of your two suits, hopefully. The Brozel bidder doesn't bid again.
