Responding With The Other Minor
With only the other minor and no major, we bid naturally:
N E S W
1§ P 1¨ . . .
A real Diamond suit (4+).
1¨ P 1NT . . .
No ¨ , © , or ª suit and can't bid 2§ .
N E S W
1¨ P 2§ * . . . Two Over One - game forcing but holding no major suit of 4+ cards, so it probably is a
real Club suit. Subsequent bidding will show stoppers up-the-line, by both opener and responder. For example:
2ª . . . A Spade stopper by North, denying a stopper.
P 3NT South has the Heart per and bids the Bidding Hearts would mean he wants the opener to play Notrump rather than having the lead come into the South hand. Unusual, but possible.
